Six high school students have been suspended after being found with alcohol in their hotel room while attending a national leadership conference in Baltimore. Some 55 students were attending the four-day Fall National Leadership Conference, which began Nov. 5, when a chaperone checked one of the rooms and discovered six students to be in possession of alcohol. Jan Ahar outlets which opened at the City Railway Station about a month ago are an experiment in supplying clean and wholesome food to train passengers at an affordable price. Run by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on platforms 7 and 8, they are a pleasant change from the usual crowded and unhygienic restaurants that railway passengers often have to depend on. The new outlets, equipped with microwaves, and food and beverage vending machines, promise to make dining at the rail  

On Dec. 7, the Newfield community is cordially invited to A Village Christmas. This event will involve caroling through the village, snacks and beverages at the Public Library, a canned food drive, and a holiday ornament making contest. Green ornaments (or environmentally friendly, reduced, reused, and/or recycled) will be placed on a tree at the library following caroling through the village.  

 

On a year-on-year basis, the rate of core inflation fell to 2.2 per cent from 3.9 per cent in September. Inflation on recreation, culture, clothing and footwear all declined in October. The slowdown did not apply to health services, alcoholic beverages or tobacco products.
